He’s traveled the world singing in large auditoriums, small and sexy jazz clubs, even appearing in “The Wiz”. Check Out A Powerful New Single From Actor Jon Huertas

Jon Huertas plays Detective Javier Esposito on ABC’s “Castle”. But many Castle fans may be surprised to learn Jon spends much of his free time creating and performing music. Recently Jon has collaborated with Grammy nominated songwriter/producer Christian “Davis” Stalnecker and together they’ve produced Jon’s new album “Grown and Sexy”. Jon describes his genre as Urban Pop and believes that his acting background has helped him immensely as a singer. “We write these songs so that they tell a clear story. That’s what I love about Christian, he gets it. It’s about story telling, just like in TV and film, and I know how to do that.”

Stupid Hype – New web series

Exciting news! The CW’s new web series ‘Stupid Hype’ starring Wilson Bethel and Jon Huertas was released last night!

Stupid Hype is a live-action comedy series created by and starring Hart of Dixie star Wilson Bethel. Stupid Hype chronicles the (mis)adventures of Hype who, after a tragic breakdancing accident, becomes a rising rap star in 1990. The series features original music from Bethel and his super-producer brother Charlie Bethel, aka Chuck Wild, and is directed by Dugan O’Neal.

Hey guys! Check out this new interview of Jon by Dago Sanchez (released today but dated of september). It’s all in Spanish at this link, but here is the translation below!

How does Latin America influence your life?
Jon : Being of Latin descent, I have been influenced not only by heredity (Puerto Rico), but for many Latinos with whom I worked and shared in the military, the entertainment industry, as well as socially. I love Latin cultures, they are so complex. I believe that we as American Latinos shouldn’t forget our ancestors, the indigenous native of ourselves that helps us all being so diverse.

How did you get to Hollywood?
Jon : I drove! A large rental truck 24 feet in height with my dog and my car on a trailer (laughs). But what really brought me here was that I always had the desire since the age of 6 years to become an actor. I always knew that someday I would live and work in Hollywood.

CW’s ‘Stupid Hype’ Sneak Peek

If you thought his latest project was anything like his character Wade on The CW drama, you will be in for a pleasant surprise.

Centered on the (mis)adventures of an ex-breakdancer turned up-and-coming rap star in 1990 who loses everything, Stupid Hype — one of The CW Digital Studio’s first projects — has everything from crazy hairstyles (Bethel included), colorful wardrobe (look at those jackets!), cameos and all of that early ’90s flair.
